Microloans to Small Business Owners Affected by Katrina

ACCION USA, a nonprofit, community based organization whose mission is to improve the lives of low and moderate-income individuals in the US by providing credit and other financial services, partnered with Hope Community Credit Union, a low-income designated, community development credit union, to provide much needed capital to self-employed, small business owners affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Loan amounts: $2,000 to $25,000
Interest Rate: 8%
Loan term: 2-60 months

Eligibility: For existing businesses affected by the hurricanes (businesses must have been in operation for two years prior to Katrina) and for pre-existing or new businesses aiding in hurricane reconstruction efforts. To qualify for a reduced interest rate of 12% you must check the special box needs on the ACCION application and mention HOPE Community Credit Union
